Dr. Henkel created the juried art exhibition, 12 Inches of Sin. The annual exhibition explores the diverse landscape of sexuality through the lens of contemporary art. The exhibition’s jurors consist of esteemed artists, authors, cultural founders, museum directors and philanthropists who have a keen understanding of avant-garde arts and culture. The exhibition is curated by Brian Paco Alvarez, Las Vegas Arts Commissioner (2012-2018) and former Curator of the Neon Museum. Within eight years, the exhibition has received submissions by artists from 26 countries and submissions have grown 300% in eight years. As the exhibition has grown in popularity and attracts international visitors to Las Vegas to attend the exhibition, she began producing a two-day immersive art experience that features thought-provoking installations and performance art to create a more meaningful experience for attendees. Her most recent exhibition and event transformed 35,000 sq.ft. of New Orleans Square, a 70,000 sq.ft. commercial retail property in the historic Commercial Center. Her art activation brought permanent artist studios and galleries to the property.
